Sacrebleu

posted Tuesday, 24 March 2009
Notes: black currant bud, peach blossom, jasmine, tuberose, vanilla, tonka bean, Yemenese incense

Parfums de Nicolai's Sacrebleu is a lovely spicy tuberose fragrance with a huge hit of vanilla. There are hints of fruit in the opening, but the scent is mostly jasmine/tuberose, made interesting with the spice of tonka and a bit of incense (I don't get a lot of it though). And soft sweet vanilla.

There are those who might say that Sacrebleu borders on "old lady." It does have a powdery elegance to it, a maturity, but I'm not willing to put it in that category.

It's a little heavy, too much so for summer, I think. But a yummy cozy scent for the colder months.
