After several e-mails from Jason and a phone message from someone else at BG about the August Guerlain event, I figured I should probably go. After all, I was going to be in NY anyway.
I had not made a reservation for a make-up artist, but after I told Jason I was attending a red carpet event that evening, he whisked me off to someone for a makeover. I told her I was interested in one of the looks on the national ad for the Fall line, Jeu des Dames, but she had other things in mind. After about twenty minutes of cosmetic application, the lead artist decided he needed to take over. And his idea of how I should look coincided with mine. He removed everything the first artist had applied and started from scratch.
Nearly two hours later, I had about fifty products on my face. Ok, not that many, but it felt like it. My eyes had four shades of dark pewter and bronze from the Jeu de Nuit palette, my cheeks were contoured enough to make a drag queen jealous, and my lips were decorated with liner, lipstick, and gloss. Plus concealer, foundation, mascara, eyebrows, kohl liner, regular liner, etc., etc., etc.
And of course my flash washed most of it out. My eyes were pretty intensely smoky, and my cheeks were flushed. When I got back to Jason, he put his hand to his mouth - I'm not quite sure if it was in shock/horror or in pleasant surprise at my transformation (he is too polite to say anything but that I looked terrific). I decided that I loved the powder foundation, plus the lip products (the lippie is #140, Beige Sans Fin, and the gloss is Kiss Kiss #847), and bought them all, plus a foundation brush.
What do you think of my look? There are more photos of me here.
