Notes: citrus, rose, narcissus, karo karoundé, jonquil, incense, vanilla, spices
I am a sucker for fragrances that have a particular dusty vanilla quality: Shalimar, Miller Harris Fleur Oriental, and Etro Shaal Nur. You may not agree, but I find that the three smell similar enough that I could probably own only one of them and be happy. However, I have a bottle of each and enjoy wearing them in the cooler months. Shaal Nur especially. It starts off with a nice lemony note and a vanilla-y incense that I particularly like. The floral notes, mostly rose, are in there too, but mostly as a backdrop for the citrus and incense. The incense itself is mildly churchy, and absolutely nothing like Etro's Messe Minuit (which smells of old basements to me), which is a very good thing.
I think one of the things I like best about Shaal Nur is that the citrus lingers and keeps the scent nice and bright overall.
